I am a researcher, bookworm and writer based between London and Brighton, UK. By trade, I am a research associate and doctoral student in political economy in the Department of International Politics at City University London.

In 2013, I published a book on the financialisation of food, with the title Hungry Capital. My most recent project – developing from my own PhD -  is a monograph on the cultural politics of Transition Town initiatives, looking at the modes whereby a growing array of personal and public experiences are given shape inside a differentiated and expanding mesh of social relations.

On this website you can find out more about my work, listen to interviews and read extracts and reviews from my books, and generally get a feel for what it is that inspires me. Occasionally, I also contribute to various blogs and magazines, discussing issues I am passionate about: you’ll find my blogs and features gathered in the News section.

My published works can be downloaded from a range of online repositories, such as SSRN, RePEc, bepress and academia.edu.
My university profile page can be found here.
I am a noncommittal tweeter under @lrningdotinfo
From time to time, I produce interviews, which can be watched on my Vimeo channel.
My thoughts on various topics of personal interest have appeared in a range of magazines, as well as in blogs written for various initiatives.
