I am a sociologist of errant curiosity, currently based in the town of Cuneo, Italy.
I have published two books so far. The first, Hungry Capital, was an account of the architecture of financial calculation, with which activities of food production and consumption have become steadily entangled. The last, Everything Gardens, depicts the layered world of meaning conjured by the first Transition Town initiative in Totnes, UK. At present, I have become engrossed in the emancipatory possibilities inherent in the rich cultural production and organizational experimentation within the meridionalista movement in Southern Italy.
On this website you can find out more about my work, listen to interviews and read extracts and reviews from my books, and generally get a feel for what it is that inspires me.
